Employer Lifecycle and Management

The lesson explains how a single Employer master record can be reused across multiple students and enrolments, while behaving differently depending on the student type, funding model, and delivery requirements.

By the end of this lesson, you will understand:

  • What an Employer is in TEAMS
  • How employer records can be linked to multiple students and enrolments across the system
  • Why employer behaviour depends on how the record is used within a specific enrolment
  • The two main ways employers are used in TEAMS: for funded students and for fee for service (FFS) students
  • How the same employer record can carry a different compliance meaning depending on the enrolment context
  • What a Legal Employer is in a funded enrolment
  • How the Legal Employer may be either a Group Training Organisation (GTO) or a direct employer
  • What Host Employers are and how they differ from the Legal Employer
  • Why only one Legal Employer is permitted per enrolment
  • How TEAMS preserves employer history rather than overwriting existing records
  • How this supports accurate evidence for funding, training contracts, and AVETMISS reporting
  • How employers are used differently in Fee for Service enrolments, where they are linked only for work placement tracking
  • How employer delivery location details are stored in the Employer Tracking area of TEAMS
  • How employer delivery location data flows into the NAT00020 file during AVETMISS exports

IMPORTANT: At the end of this lesson, you will need to complete the quiz before moving on to the next lesson.
